Our daughter Inès was born, calmly and confidently.
After nearly a week of stop-start pre-labour and early labour, the surges intensified and I breathed through them at home on my birthing ball. We drove to the hospital and I continued to breathe through my surges in the car and walking into the birth centre. The staff were excellent at leaving us to our own devices and I continued to use my breathing as the surges got more and more intense with Ary’s support.
About two hours after arriving at the birth centre, I was breathing through the surges standing up holding on to Ary and swaying but started having the urge to hum the baby down. Finally the birth pool was ready for me to get into.
The feeling of being in the water was amazing and really took the edge off the surges.
After about 15 minutes, baby’s head could be seen by the midwife. After another half a dozen pushes, baby was out and I picked her up which was magical!!!
The sense of accomplishment and empowerment was palpable! Thank you so much Louise for all your guidance, support and understanding! We are so pleased to have brought our baby girl into the world in such a calm happy way with Hypnobirthing.
