My little girl Rosie was born weighing 8lbs 14oz!
My induction of labour started at 6.30pm. By 10pm I had quickly gone from 2cm dilated to 8cm and my surges were becoming more and more intense. I had sent Toby home for some rest as we didn’t expect things to progress quite that fast! We were quickly transferred to the delivery suite as soon as he returned. Due to the hospital being short staffed and me already being 8cm I was not able to have a water birth. I also had to have constant monitoring due to the induction and baby’s reduced movements.
Despite this not being part of the “plan” I still feel like I had a really positive experience and the right birth for me. Hypnobirthing definitely helped me to let go of what I had in my head and just go with the flow.
The midwives were amazing and made sure I was able to move around and get into comfortable positions. ! I used the MP3s to zone out and focus on my breathing. Toby felt that he knew what was happening at each stage and didn’t have to worry, meaning that he could support me and re focus me when needed!
I truly believe I would not have coped without hypnobirthing. I had become very anxious in the lead up to being induced. I used the skills I had learnt from hypnobirthing to calm myself down and trust my body. When it came to the birth I felt completely in control and I was able to breathe my baby out without any pain relief!
I recommend hypnobirthing to everyone I speak to and I am so glad that we did the course with you.
